Responsible Land Use
Holding industry and government accountable for best land use practices

Land that does not fall within a park or protected area still needs to be respected and used responsibly.
-
Only 12.5% of Alberta is currently conserved as Parks and Protected Areas and most of this is in the mountains and Wood Buffalo National Park-- not all of the different ecosystem types are protected from industrial use.
-
That leaves 87.5% of Alberta open to ever-increasing development.
We depend on Alberta's land, water and a host of natural resources to fuel our economy and to meet our needs. We must ensure that in using our natural resources, we do not abuse them. Our children deserve a rich natural heritage.
