Why volunteer with CPAWS?

  1. Gain knowledge about the environment
  2. Meet and make friends with people who share similar interests and values.
  3. Make a difference in protecting Alberta's wilderness.
  4. Use your existing skills for a good cause, and develop new skills.
  5. Have fun!

Getting Started....

  1. Explore the current opportunities and check out our Volunteer Resources.
  2. Choose the opportunities you like* and submit a Volunteer Application Form.
  3. Sign up to Volunteer News - our monthly e-newsletter for volunteers
  4. Meet with the Outreach Coordinator to ensure a good fit and to get oriented. (She will contact you within one week of receiving your form to set up a meeting by phone or in person).

  5. Make an Action Plan and be realistic about what you can accomplish!

  6. Start your work, follow your Action Plan, log your hours, and remember - never hesitate to ask for help!

*If none of the currently available positions interest you, we encourage you to apply anyway. We can usually accommodate the different talents and needs of volunteers.  The Outreach Coordinator would be pleased to chat with you about other options so feel free to contact her.  Also, continue to check Volunteer News and this website often for new positions, or positions that become available.
